The first of the monthly reviews for the 2025 season with a combined April/May review for all of our senior sides, as well as an overview of all things going on at the club.
We’ve been blessed with some very unseasonal (yet most welcome) dry weather and sunshine throughout April and May, meaning not a single over of senior and junior cricket has been lost to the elements in the 7 weeks we've had of the season so far. June, despite it being the official start of Summer may well and has already proved to be a different proposition, but we'll get to that at a later date.
Senior Team Reviews
Please click on each of the links for a review of the six weeks so far of the 2025 season for each of our senior sides.
A mixed bag of results for all three of our senior sides in the first few weeks of the season, but progression to the last eight of the Parish Cup and Crossley Shield for our 1 and 2XI as well as the Sunday team bettering their number of wins at this stage of the season compared to the whole of 2024. The 20/20 side have also made it through to the semi-finals of the 20/20 trophy after a successful campaign in a round robin mini tournament against Booth and Oxenhope, held up at the club on the first day of June.
Highlights of the season so far (with apologies if I've glaringly missed anything off)
Welcome back to the club for Rhys Newman and Dan & Bill Keighley.
Dan Brock back playing first XI cricket.
Dylan Evans playing regular first XI cricket
Centuries for Mark Fellows and Rhys Newman (2 x centuries, both in the Parish Cup with one being a double century)
Lewis bowling 8 overs for 10 runs at Triangle in the Parish Cup
Fin Charnock making his 1XI debut and taking a couple of wickets
Juniors to the fore in the Sunday team with the majority of the wickets being taken by the younger end of our team
Off the field, the undoubted positive of the season is the great news we received from John Greenwood on Saturday 7th June following a pretty serious operation. Great to hear from you John and wishing you a speedy recovery – much love to you and all the Greenwoods from everyone at the club.

Junior Cricket
Friday nights really are a hive of activity up at the club with nearly 60 registered children playing cricket for the club across 4 age group teams. Recruitment has been great over the Winter with good numbers at indoor nets. This has carried on so much so in that the sheer volume of players is causing weekly selection issues for at least three of the four coaches.
The Under 9’s side lead the way with a 100%-win record, with all other teams having recorded at least one victory so far.
All Stars has also started and is being run on a Sunday morning between 10:00 and 11:00.
