Whilst the 2022 cricket season might be a distant memory, there has been plenty going on at our club in the "off" season.
Jamie Summerscales
After a dozen(ish) years away from the Astleys, we are delighted to see the return of former captain Jamie Summerscales to our club for the 2023 season. A member of the 2010 double winning side and a Parish Cup winner in 2012, Jamie returns to the 'Stute following a decade or so at Barkisland Cricket Club. He'll no doubt be a welcome re-addition to our first XI and will be a massive help no doubt both on and off the field. Welcome home Jamie.
League Dinner
The Annual Halifax Cricket League Dinner was held at the Arches, Dean Clough on Friday 18th November. Whilst we had no team awards to collect for our endeavours throughout the 2022 season, we did manage to secure three individual awards.
Albie Earle - Sunday team Division 2 fielding award
Simon Wood - Laurie Plumbe Trophy for wicketkeeping
Allen Hampshire - Simon Lees Memorial Trophy - for outstanding service to a cricket club.

Club Dinner
Our annual club dinner was held on Saturday 26th November at the Moorlands Inn, Halifax. Many thanks to everyone who made the night a huge success, but special thanks to Rob and Yvonne Larkin who were the driving force behind it all.
Once again, thanks to all who attended and congratulations to all of our winners.
Children's Christmas party
A huge thanks to all of Santa's elves who made our Children's Christmas party possible. The event was held on Sunday 11th December, with over 20 children in attendance. Would you know that Santa put in an appearance on the day to the delight (in the main) of the youngsters in attendance.

Halifax Junior League Finals Day - Sunday 28th August 2022
Last but by no means least, we lost our fellow player Andrew "Crazy Legs" Boocock to the great pavillion in the sky in June this year.
Football World Cup Sweepstake
All 32 teams for the World Cup Sweepstake were sold pretty quickly with half of the £320 going directly to the club.
Congratulations to Millie Gould who scooped the £100 for having Argentina, with Dave Grundy taking home £40 as runner up and our very own Treasurer, who is £20 better off for pulling out Croatia.
